Internet facilitates interesting technological resources for research that would otherwise be extremely difficult to access. It also helps us to find major research centres and projects being undertaken in this area.

20.2. WASP (Waveforms, Annotations, Spectrograms & Pitch)

This programme (created by Mark Huckvale at the University of London), which can be downloaded directly from this address, allows us to generate waveforms, spectrograms and pitch tracks for measuring intonation, and includes a help section with explanations on their use. Waveforms can be very useful for distinguishing voicing, aspiration, etc. By connecting a microphone to your computer, you can also record your sound productions and compare results.

Permite generar formas de onda, espectrogramas y pistas de tono para medir la entonación. 20.5. Speechination

While the aim of this commercial site maintained by Richard Cauldwell is to promote material production for the study of pronunciation in electronic format as well as online courses, it also includes a free access research section (Centre for Discourse Intonation Studies) that interprets everyday language data. Analysis of oral production of a series of speakers with sound and commentaries are included in the section "Favourite Speech-units".

Aunque se trata de una página comercial mantenida por Richard Cauldwell que promociona la producción de materiales para el estudio de la pronunciación en formato electrónico así como cursos online, incluye un apartado de investigación (Centre for Discourse Intonation Studies) de libre acceso que interpreta los datos del lenguaje cotidiano.
En la sección “Favourite Speech-units” se incluye el análisis de las producciones orales de una serie de hablantes con sonido y comentarios.
